I, Andis Kaulins of Germany & the USA, am not knowingly related to Andis Kaulins domiciled in China or Andis Kaulins domiciled in the Baltic, although I do have relatives in Latvia. Our oldest family birth records write Kaulins as "Kaulin". Collins in English may be a common distantly related differently spelled surname.
The blood line of the British monarchy traces back to the broader family of the early Anglo-Saxon Wessex king Ceawlin viz. Ceaulin. Ceaulin was the 2nd Bretwalda ("ruler of Britain"). The Indo-European word root *wal- and its variant forms mean "to rule": e.g. my mother's name was Valda. Wikipedia:
"When the line of Ceol finally became extinct, first Caedwalla of Wessex and then Ine of Wessex became king; both great-grandsons of Cuthwine. Egbert of Wessex, ancestor of the later Kings of England, descends from Ine's brother and hence also from Cuthwine [the son of Ceawlin, grandson of Cynric, son of Cerdic, the first of the Saxons to come across the sea from Germany]." Given modern genetics and new knowledge about DNA, mtDNA and haplotypes, we all know today, of course, that if you go back far enough in time, everyone is related to everyone else, so that unexpected distant relations should surprise no one.

Edited Books Infinity One - A Minoan Computer Adventure		Although I taught law, legal research and legal writing at the university level, I myself am surely not a gifted writer. As a student, some of my test scores in areas such as "analytical thinking" were unsurpassed, but my "verbal" "grammatical aptitude" scores always left something to be desired, excluding vocabulary, where I always excelled. You have to know the words, but I never cared for grammar and its artificial rules. There are of course gifted writiers out there in the world and I try to listen to them and to apply their teachings as I can to improve my own written work. If we look to Stephen King' s non-fiction book, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, we find that the very gifted writer King, although I am not a fan of his books per se, says that he learned a lot from John Gould, editor of the Lisbon Falls, Maine, weekly newspaper, Weekly Enterprise, who gave him his first writing job as a sports reporter. King relates that Gould told him the following when he started reporting: *"When you write a story, you're telling yourself the story.... When you rewrite, your main job is taking out all the things that are not* the story."** That wisdom is in some part a secret to success in life, not just in writing. Stick to the story. TAKE OUT ALL THE THINGS THAT ARE NOT THE STORY. That is much easier said than done of course and much of my own writing could be reduced greatly by putting it into the hands of a neutral editor. Moreover, I often do not get around to rewriting things as they should be rewritten and edited, but be aware that I do know better. It is all a question of time and the mass of material presented. One of my main interests is a study of the megaliths, where I have made substantial discoveries in understanding that many prehistoric megalithic sites were "sited" and "sighted" by astronomy in classical hermetic tradition, i.e. "as above, so below", so that megaliths represent star groups on Earth as they are arranged in the Heavens. The ancients used the sky as a natural "map" that they then mirrored for their own purposes on the ground. See megaliths.net.
